Exhibit Gallery admission…
Is always free for members. Present your membership card at the
entrance, (If you are going to an IMAX film, you must stop at the
ticket counter for a ticket to the film.) Click

Express Ticket Pick-up...
All members may proceed directly to the Members Window to redeem
vouchers, claim reservations or purchase tickets. Members do not
wait in the ticket-buyers line. (Members do wait in the ticket holders
line, so plan to line up early if a particular
seat location is important to you.)
Gift Membership…
A convenient and timely gift all year long. Fleet members can purchase
Family memberships at a special discount. Click

IMAX Sneak Peeks…
From time to time, we preview upcoming IMAX films to gauge patron
interest. Explorer, Pioneer and Innovator members automatically
receive an invitation via first class mail. Other members who have
provided us with their e-mail address receive Sneak Peek invitations
on a rotating basis. Attendance is limited. If you are not able
to accept a particular film, don’t worry: there will be other
offers in the future.
IMAX voucher…
Valid for one person to see one IMAX film. Each membership level (except Exhibit Experience) includes
six or more free IMAX vouchers. When you use up all your vouchers,
purchase additional tickets at a discount. IMAX vouchers ARE transferable;
give them away to friends and neighbors. (In fact, you don’t
even need to be present when vouchers are redeemed!)
Innovator
Privileges...
Is our highest level of membership support -- individuals who join
at $2,500 and above. Innovator members receive all the benefits
that Pioneer members receive, plus invitations to special Innovator and Trustee events.
Member I.D. Number…
Appears on your membership card, IMAX vouchers and publication mailing label. Have this number ready whenever you call
the Fleet.
Members Window…
Located at the far left of the ticket counter. Stop here to claim
your reservation, renew your membership or purchase a new membership.
(Other cashiers can assist you as well.)
Membership Office…
Open Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call (619) 238-1233,
ext. 819, to renew or upgrade your membership, change your address
or get help with a membership problem. If you reach voice mail,
please leave a message and we will call you back on the next business
day.
Motion Simulator Ride…
Discounted for members. Please present your membership card at our ticketing counter.
Pre-Seating Privileges…
Are valid for Voyager, Explorer, Pioneer and Innovator members.
You and your party (up to four people) enter the Space Theater ahead
of those waiting in line. Present your card at the ticket counter
and ask the cashier for instructions on where to wait for pre-seating.
Reservations…
Only members can make reservations for IMAX films or planetarium
shows. Call (619) 238-1233. Have your member I.D. number
ready. Claim your reservation at least 15 minutes before show time;
always allow extra time for parking. Remember, we save the show,
but not the seat – if sitting in a particular part of the
theater is important, please arrive early.
Member Publications…
- Every month, we send a flyer that includes information about current films, exhibitions and education programs. (Members with e-mail addresses receive this publication via e-mail.)
- Facets is a quarterly publication about donors and news from the Fleet Science Center.
- Once a year, our Annual Report presents a review of the previous year.
If you have not received at least one of these publications within one month after you join or renew, that means we do not have your current snail-mail or e-mail address. Please contact the Membership Office right away.
(E-Update, a monthly bulletin, is mailed to members and non-members who have given us their e-mail address. The member publications are a member benefit; e-Update is not.).
Online publications...
Online versions of all our membership publications are available for members who prefer to help us cut expenses and save a few trees. Click Here. (You can always go back to the snail-mail version later if you prefer.)
“Not valid for Special Events”…
We have very few special events where IMAX vouchers and Discovery Society membership cards are not valid for IMAX admission. (Examples might include a two-hour IMAX film or an engagement where the film’s distributor will not accept passes.) If IMAX vouchers and Discovery Society membership cards are not valid, we will notify you in advance through our monthly flyer. When in doubt, call or write ahead.
The Sky Tonight...
Our live
planetarium show presented on the first Wednesday of every month
explains what you can see in the San Diego sky that month. Discovery
Society members and their families are free. Other members receive
a discount.
Upgrade…
To a higher membership level and begin taking advantage of your
new benefits right away. We can pro-rate the charge if it falls
in the middle of your membership year. Click
