General Job Description:
This position is responsible for daily supervision of all Food Service employees in absence of the Café General Manager or Assistant Manager. The Shift Supervisor also directs work assignments and assists customers, prepares food, orders cafe items from vendors, ensures the area is clean, and assists Café General Manager in overall operations of Galileo’s Café.
The Café Shift Supervisor trains new employees in all café responsibilities as directed by the Café General Manager, coaches café employees to ensure standards are being met, is responsible for ensuring that supply orders are done correctly and timely, leads by example in outstanding guest service, perform routine cleaning and/or maintenance of appliances, and rotates to each station in the Café in order to supervise all areas while being available to assistance customers.

Basic Selection Factors:
To be considered qualified for the job; applicants should meet these basic selection factors:
· Six months food service supervisory experience or one year comparable experience in a retail/customer service environment as a supervisor or lead role.
· Customer Service oriented. Passion for superior guest service!
· Experience handling money, operating a cash register, and reviewing reports to calculate sales and labor expenses.
· Ability to perform mathematical operations as needed for position.
· Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
· Must have or be able to obtain a food handlers card within one month of hire.
· High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
