Be an astronaut for a day at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. Travel 380 miles into space to join NASA on their last mission to service the greatest telescope in history in the just released film IMAX® HUBBLE, now playing in the Heikoff Dome Theater. (Opens March 19, 2010) Hands-on activities include making your very own spectroscope, similar to the instrument used on the Hubble Telescope to measure the light coming from distant stars. Learn more about our universe and see the latest research and images from NASA in the “Origins in Space” exhibition. Take the Hubble Trivia Challenge for a chance to win IMAX passes, astronaut ice cream and other space-y prizes.

Residents’ Free First Tuesdays at the Fleet
As a THANK YOU to SAN DIEGO CITY and COUNTY RESIDENTS, the Fleet offers Residents’ Free Tuesday on the first Tuesday of each month. Free admission for San Diego county residents, active-duty military and local college students is to our exhibit galleries, IMAX® film admission is discounted to $8.50 per person, per film. Every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m., enjoy an “Early Bird Special” IMAX film for the ticket price of just $8.50, also including access to all of our exhibit galleries. Early Bird IMAX films are family friendly! Please check the film schedule to see what’s playing.

Climate Conversations – Quarterly Series

Exploring Ethics – First Wednesday of the Month
On the first Wednesday of every month, the Fleet partners with the Center for Ethics in Science and Technology, for a public discussion forum. An RSVP is required; please call (858) 822-2647.
Educator Discount
Kindergarten through grade 12 teachers working within a 200 mile radius of the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center are eligible for free gallery admission with one guest. Educators may also purchase up to two IMAX tickets at the member price. Must show a school or union ID for discounted pricing and complete an Educator Survey.
Military Discount
Military receive a 10% discount, must show ID.
